Hi all,
we are wondering about how to design the "new" LSA++ layer in the BWonHANA.
There are the following use-cases:
> Consuming SAP HANA Views in SAP BW
> Extracting data from SAP HANA Views into SAP BW for staging purposes
As we learned from Jürgen Haupt's LSA++ presentations, the "OpenODS VIew" should be the central object providing data for both real-time reporting as well as data staging.
However, up to know there is no possiblity to extract data into BI staging out of an OpenODS View.
So is there anything to come in the future or will the only way remain using the ODP HANA DataSource? (however, ODP is only possible in relationship with a HANA System...)
Besides this, we'd be interested in the use-cases of when to still use the TransientProvider for real-time reporting as the OpenODS View seems to fully cover the TransientProvider's functionalities in this point of view...
Thx & regards
Emanuel
Hello Emanuel,
Which version are you in?
Persisting Open ODS view for BW seems possible on SP5 (7.4) but the note 1922533 is not released to customer yet :-). Please look at the link below
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40f377fd-194d-3110-469b-82a413168... Section5/page34
In LSA+++, there is no need to persist the data unless its really required for business benefit, there is lot of discussion on hot/cold data as well. my two cents
As per your use cases, please see below scenarios gives idea how to consume HANA real time data into BW

Thank you

Hi Emmanuel,
your point is confusing. Have a look at the SLT with BW 7.4 document.
Cheers,
