Hello everyone,
I'm checking the SAP HANA architecture and I have the following question:
- During installation you have SAP HANA Studio component installed and a SAP HANA Studio repository. What are these for? Isn't the SAP HANA Studio the Admin/modelling tool for end users? is there a SAP HANA Studio component installed in the server?
What about these directories:
"/hana/shared/<SID>/hdbstudio - The SAP HANA studio installation path.
/hana/shared/<SID>/hdbstudio_update - The studio repository installation path. The studio repository is used to update the local SAP HANA studio installation"
What does it mean the local SAP HANA Studio?
Rergards,
JA
Hi JA,
Yes, the SAP HANA Studio the Admin/modelling tool for end users and also this Component is Installed in Server too.
Based on the server component, the SAP HANA Studio is not only used as Modelling/Admin tool but also for Managing Transport / HANA Lifecycle Manager (HLM) Etc.
The Local SAP HANA Studio is basically used to perform the server level tasks like taking HANA Backups, Managing Transports and Upgrading HANA Components using HLM (Including Installation of Additional AFS (Application Function Libraries) Etc...
Hope this would be a Helpful answer for your Question ..
