Hana, SAPUI5 and WebSockets

Hi

Grateful if anyone can indicate if/when websockets may be available within hana for real-time consumption and representation of hana data within the SAPUI5 framework.

Until then Im not sure if this could be emulated within widgets executing a server side scriptS for the data feeds, and how efficient that might be?

Web Sockets is planned to be added to HANA Extended Application Services in SPS6, but initially only for the XSJS Debugger.  It isn't planned to be exposed to the programming model until later (probably SPS7).

Yes this is possible to use a timer on the client slide and poll at intervals and make it appear to the user to be data push.

Could you let me know whether WebSocket feature is released in HANA SP7 for exposed programming? If not, when is it planned to be?

No it is not released in SP7.  It is still planned for a future release. I can't comment on the specific support package.
