Now the problem

two nodes with the same hostname are not really perfect for an DEV and PRD landscape.

i want a best practice howto for chancing the hostname of a already installed HANA node

Thanks for your ideas

    Hello all,

    the problem is solved.

Solution: (see HANA Admin Guide marker 14.2.1 Configuring the Primary System)

    The HDB should be running!

    use root user

    vi /etc/hosts

change the name of the node from hananode01 to hananode02 (hdbrename look for the host if available)

    cd /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/install/bin

    ./hdbrename --hostmap hananode01=hananode02

the HDB automatically restarts and works

New problem after host rename (see 1828631) Note 1828631 - HANA Studio shows the Manufacturer "unknown"

    The Hardware Manufacturer are unknown

    Solution:

    The HDB should be running!

    (as root)  mv /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/install/hwinfo/bios_hananode01.txt /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/install/hwinfo/bios_hananode02.txt

    (as SIDADM) HDB restart

After this the world order is changed

    That´s IT
